Transforming Workforce Strategy in the Age of AI

Sharing our founder, Sara’s reflections from moderating the Talent & Technology - Transforming workforce strategy in the age of AI panel at Future of Work Global Event Series. The conversation brought together leaders from IKEA, Adaptovate, Safeguard Global and RemotePass to explore how organisations can use AI thoughtfully - without losing the human touch.

“We’re experiencing a generational split in the way people feel about AI:
- Older workers are understandably cautious, thinking about job security and the pace of change.
- Younger workers aren’t as worried about job loss; their concerns centre around energy use, sustainability and long-term ethics.
- Mid-generations tend to see AI as yet another disruption to navigate - one in a long line of them.

Enthusiasm, anxiety, curiosity, caution… all sitting inside the same workforce. And that means leaders must be intentional in how they communicate, educate and support their teams through this shift.

According to Visier Inc. 2023 research, UK employees who are using AI are saving 1.55 hours every single day - yet over half of employers still aren’t encouraging it.

Together with Varun Nagalia David Storrie Nik Murthy and Shiv Shivakumar, we explored:
💡 How should leaders reframe AI as a tool for growth?
💡 How will the structure and skills of teams evolve?
💡 What safeguards are needed for fairness in AI-enabled performance and succession?
💡 What does true workforce agility look like in an AI-driven world?
💡 How can technology support deeper human connection in global, distributed workforces?

I'd also asked ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude what THEY would ask this panel about AI. Their questions weren’t about tech at all but on judgment, ethics, creativity, and the benefit of human unpredictability to innovation.

A perfect reminder that AI isn’t here to replace us.”
